Reading the wheat board
Wheat is the rabi anchor of the belt and, like parmal, is procured at MSP through the April–May window — so the spring board is mostly a logistics tool: which yards are lifting fast, where the queues are, and what private trade is paying for lots that miss specification.
Outside the procurement window the picture changes. Wheat traded from storage later in the year is a private-market business, and those off-season rates are where the board earns its keep for traders and flour mills.
